Foods for Dry Skin

I've always had dry skin and it can sometimes be very sensitive. I already use products for it but i'm wondering what foods I need to eat more of to feed my skin.

Anyone have suggestions?

I have dry skin, but it's not sensitive. Drinking a lot of water helps, and fatty foods help like avocado are great for overall health. Usually, dry and sensitive skin is something that is treated topically, by using creams, face masks etc. A person with naturally oily skin can't change that by eating a certain vegetable, so the same should be true for those with dry skin

I find that avoiding cow's milk and certain hard cheeses allows my skin to feel less dehydrated, but that's anecdotal evidence. May be worth a try.

Your skin is the largest organ in the body and can certainly be helped by diet. Topical treatments have a restricted penetration of the skin despite what is claimed in all the adverts - the skin is remarkably good at its job which is to keep moisture from penetrating it.
  • Fish Oil capsules, drinking loads and loads of water, healthy fats :)

Since I don't eat refined carbs, and have only had a sugary treat 4 times in the last 11 months, my skin has done a 180... I drink loads of water and eat about 2-5 avocados a week, and about 12 eggs a week...(all spread out over the week).

I had gotten to the point where I had to sleep with gloves on to not scratch the dry skin on my legs. Now I just put on body lotion after I shower and am good to go!
