I'm trying to find some good smoothie recipes. I'm not a big breakfast person so I'm hoping to be able to find healthy diabetic friendly smoothie recipes to drink for my breakfast!!!!

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 banana
1/2 cup yogurt (greek or non-fat)
    1 1/2 teaspoons splenda
1 cup strawberries (or berry of your choice)
    1 teaspoon orange juice
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Just throw the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth! :) enjoy!

1/4 cup oatmeal softened in 1 cup hot water
    1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1 scoop protein powder ( I prefer chocolate but you can use any flavor)
    3 handfuls of spinach
    1-2 cups berries
    blend all together

    bump. Good ideas :)
  • Every morning I have a smoothie and it really helps to start my day! This is what I do:
    3 frozen strawberries
    1/2 a frozen banana
1 big handfull of baby spinach (or whatever fancy lettuce I may have on hand)
    1 tbsp chia seeds
    2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
    2 tbsp PB2
2 scoops Vi Salus protein powder
    1 cup almond milk

You don't even taste the spinach bc the strawberries and such are sweet enough. I don't put splenda or anything because honestly, I just don't trust all those artificial sweeteners...I really think they hinder weightloss...plus you really don't NEED them. All the fruit is sweet enough. This is what works for me!!

Oh and some days, if I need an extra boost (b/c I have two kids under 2 years old and sometimes I really need it! LoL) I add a packet of starbucks Vio - the individualized instant coffee.

    Good luck!!
