Any Good Workout Video Recommendations?

Hello, I live in Oregon and I've very cold and rainy right now so getting outside to work out isn't very desirable, and being a poor college student, a gym membership isn't an option right now, but I don't want these two things to hold me back. I am partial to doing work out videos in my living room, does anyone have an suggestions? I am a beginner, so something that starts out easy and maybe gets harder as you go? Thanks!

I've heard that Hip Hop Abs is very good. I know a few people who have gotten great results from it. but if you're up to a serious challenge, there's always Insanity.

You can check out dvds from the library and try several different ones for free before you decide which one you want.

    Tracy Effinger's Squeeze
    Piloxing
    Booty Barre
    Peak 10
Xtreme Timesaver Training (not really fun but good if you like circuit training)
  • My bum and thighs are my main concern, so I got Brazilian butt lift from beachbody.com and I love it! Beachbody has loads of different workout videos so there would likely be one to suit you. ive not used it myself, but lots of people on here have mentioned turbojam or turbofire as being great? Butt lift has multiple different workouts including cardio and targeted shaping exercises. Only thing is it was expensive at 60GBP. When I'm on a budget but want workouts, I look at YouTube and google things like Zumba, rocket belly dance, raegetton etc and usually find enough videos to string together to make a workout! I'm sure that if you have a particular body concern then searching for keywords in YouTube would find you something.

P90x. Might be a good option for you. You can use a set of elastic bands in place of free weights. You will see results if you stick with it! We even have a great support network here on MFP to assist you. Here's the link

I started at 314 4months ago. Now down to 271.

Check and see if you have free access to the fitness center at your college.

As for videos...I have always enjoyed Gilad's Bodies in Motion videos. His sister has some older ones called Basic Training. His routines are pretty simple and they work. I hate videos that have short sets of complicated movements so you don't even get them down before it's time to do something else.

I'm planning to try Zumba tomorrow at my gym :-)
