Excuses!

Ughhhhhh im so sick of my excuses. i lost weight this summer (like 15-20 lbs in 3 months!) but ive made no more progress since september. i think ive had a long enough break and i hate my body but once i get off the wagon its really hard for me to get back on. i have a million excuses why i keep putting it off-

"im bored and lonely i have nothing better to do with myself than eat"
"i worked hard and my body still looks like *kitten* so this is pointless"
"everyone else is indulging this time of year i dont want to miss out"
"there is too much temptation right now to lose weight"
"i love food too much to lose weight"

I really hope i can snap out of this funk starting tomorrow. everyday i tell myself ill get back on track and one excuse or another always comes up. i hope tomorrow is my day.

  • I don't know what you need but wanted to share what I'm doing in case it helps. I've had to experiment, trial and error to find what will motivate me. I have to work out at home and am limited to videos so I just keep watching and trying new ones. Since its kind of time consuming to review, I had some playing while I did other things so I could get a feel for them. Finally landed on a Jillian Michael's video that clicked with me and what I need. I also did quite a few light workouts to get me warmed up so I wouldn't quit because of aches and pains. I did dancing with my kids, walking and even logged my gardening time just so I could incorporate movement into my day. My advice is to try something new!!! At the very least it might spark a renewed interest in fitness!

I do exactly the same thing. I go through different work out videos until I find something I like. This week I have been trying Zumba videos on You tube. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep up but they really are so much fun.
  • I've been right where you are, I can tell you it does get better. I spent a lot of time looking for recipes that are yummy and not full of fats and calories. It's been like a daily challenge of new recipes. Some have been awesome some not so much..lol I also found working hard doesn't always do it, working smart works much better. Switch things up if you have to, what ever you do keep moving and don't give up! You can do this, I've spent 30 years saying I can't and big surprise I can. Keep it up you'll get there!

If you say you can't or you won't......... You're right!

For me it wasnt about excuses. i just had to finally find it in me.. once i did, there were no more excuses to make. I was in it for the long run. No matter what comes up, i do the right thing. "They" say when its your time, its your time and nothing gets in the way of that.. nothing stops you, and i totally believe that now.

I hope you find your time!!! <3

edited to say my favorite thing.. "you will find time when you stop finding time to make excuses!"

i found a picture on the front of a health and fitness mag... this picture is my goal body... the mag sits on my kitchen table so every time i sit down to eat i look at it... i also take month pics of my body to i can track my progress, and today i googled pictures of my ideal goal body and made a collage... i find looking constantly at what i want and being able to see the progress i have made is very motivating!!! id suggest keeping these pictures around you house, like on the inside and outside of the cupboards, on the fridge, near the bathroom mirror... back of the toilet door??? anywhere you will look so that you are constantly reminded of what is important to you... what you want to look like more than anything :) p.s. add me as a friend if you like, im not over interesting but if you need a pep talk sometimes i can have good ideas :)

i also found a sport that i LOVE!!! finding something active that you enjoy is half the battle xx

I'm working one getting out of my rut right now too! Things get better you just have to make up your mind not to let your excuses overpower your will to lose weight!

understandable. i was the same way, so i never really tried to lose weight.

what i found is that when you're ready to make the change for real then it wont be that much of a struggle. i've been at this a year and i have yet to suffer an "OMG i want to quit" moment because now i actually want to do it and i'm committed to my goals.
