Cheat day once a week vs. eating more every day?

Which one seems to work better for you guys to keep plateaus at bay/break out of them? Sticking to a stricter regime most of the week, then having one cheat day at the end? Or increasing your overall calorie intake every day? And if you do the cheat day thing, do you go all out, like significantly over maintenance? Or do you just eat at/slightly over maintenance?

I don't think you need a 'cheat day' every week, I think that is a little much? But maybe that's just me. But once every couple of weeks seems good, it allows you to go out for dinner and things0

When I am stuck, I up my calories by about 100-150 a day and see if that helps. I always have one "cheat" meal per week but I just include it in my daily calories but rarely go over more than 200-300 at most.0

i have an occasional cheat day purely to keep my sanity :O)
i don't have set times for them, & when i have them i don't count anything at all,i simply eat what i want for that day.0 -
I sort of have a cheat day...I try not to go over on calories...I just don't eat as healthy per say.0

Idk how accurate this is, but the woman that owns the gym I used to go to was telling me once that a cheat day every week actually helps you lose weight because it kind of "resets" your metabolism and keeps it guessing. It also helps keep you sane! I don't eat like a cow on my "cheat day" or anything, but I do indulge a little more and let myself go over a few hundred calories without worrying about it.0
