Hi guys,
I'm new to this and am wondering if anybody out there knows the best exercise for burning fat without building up too much muscle? I'm wanting to slim down and am worried that if i do loads of cardio I'll just bulk up with muscle!
Cheers![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)

ZUMBAAAA!
Zumba is brilliant for burning fat all around the body!!
You can get zumba games in various consoles, or you can actually get the proper zumba workout dvds, that also come wi zumba sticks! Ive got zumba in the wii, and its quite good and has helped me alot. But next week im going to buy the proper zumba workout dvds!0 -
You won't bulk up with cardio. Not ever.
In fact you won't bulk up lifting weights unless you really really REALLY work hard.
So go!0 -
Hiit training without a doubt0

Burning fat for me is the treadmill on incline and the crosstrainer, does nothing for the muscles but that along with weighing my food I have lost almost 10kg in 3 months and feel great.0

Strength training will not make you look bigger unless you have high levels of testosterone in your system. However it will lengthen and tone the muscles which will make you look and feel slimmer. Muscle also burns more calories so you would be wise to include strength training to your workouts.0

Not sure if serious. This could be the most perfectly planted troll post ever. Bean, is this you?0 -
Moderate calisthenics, interval cardio training and lifting weights.0

I've seen a lot of people suggest reading "The New Rules of Lifting for Women," to dispel myths about bulking up.0

When I see a post like this and see that the first answer is Zumba, I leave and never come back.0

The best exercise for burning fat is exercise. Period.
Run, walk, jog, sprint. jump, tuck, roll, push, pull, stretch, leap, dance, cartwheel, lift.0 -
Agree with the posts above - no chance of bulking with cardio. Try distance running - ever meet a bulky marathoner?0

Running has worked great for me but you wont bulk up if you pick up a few weights.0

Exercising discipline with maintaining a calorie deficit.
Worrying about building too much muscle when starting out on a fitness routine is like worrying about amassing too much wealth when taking a minimum wage job at Burger King.0
