I don't know how to face exercising. After going from 266lbs to 140lbs and back up to 190lbs all in the space of 1.5 years, I don't know what exercise is going to work for my body. I used to be very active, but the other day I tried to exercise and couldn't even do 15 minutes worth of cardio. It left me feel very clueless and very defeat. I don't know what to do. It annoys me that I can't just step back into the routine that I once had and is a constant reminder of disappointment and shame in myself for gaining that weight back. Does anyone have any tips on how I can ease myself back into exercise and feel good about it??

Hi,
Just do a little at a time and gradually add a min or 2 each work out. Also I find not time keeping helps, when I run I cover up the timer, there is nothing worse than watching the numbers slowly go down (or up depending on the treadmill) and I read whilst on the bike lol.
Why dont you try a fitness class with a friend, you'll have so much fun you wont realise how much your doing, I did Zumba for first time other day and I laughed so much I was shocked on how quick time went. Turn your workouts into a social thing.0 -
I know how you feel...Its so hard on your self esteem when you regain all that hard fought weight. I regained 42lbs this year and it was just hard on my ego and of course the comments that you get from "so called friends" can be soul destroying. I am very much entering the yo-yo territory as I need to get healthy again and lose these 45lbs again.
You already know how to lose the weight as you have triumphed before magnificently to shed so much. That is an amazing feat in itself so you should feel proud. It's really hard to actually take the first step off the sofa once you've made the decision to be healthy.
I just went out tonight for a short 90minute walk ( for the 1st time in 11 months) and I wheezed myself all the way up the long straight uphill road.It wasn't a pleasant sight for those looking at me,but hey, I did it and feel so much better for it.
The trick for me is to ease in slowly. If you find 15 mins of cardio hard on day 1, thats ok. On day 2 keep on doing 15 mins. Then on day 3 do 20 mins. On day 6, step it up to 30 mins. Just listen to your body and don't push too hard. As you get used to being physical again,it will get easier...or so I tell myself.
Tomorrow morning,I'm going right back on that long uphill road again and will embarrassingly wheeze, cough and sputter my enormous bum up that dam road. SO WILL YOU.
We can share our shame during the exercise but whatever you do,don't stop.Keep at it.
Let me know how you get on tomorrow.
PS I will be checking...so I'm just letting you know now LOL hahah xXx0 -

LOL better to look like a steaming tomato than an apple shaped potato sweating and grunting its way up the road.0
