    it is amazing :)

and now my pedantic side is coming out

a loss is rarely made up of just fat. people often lose water weight, and some lean mass too. also, i cut my nails and have hair cut and shave my legs so that counts :)

but you are right, people forget that even a 1lb loss is heading in the right direction :)

Well, regarding the first part, I think I was discouraged when I saw the picture... I mean... the scale says I lost 16-17 pounds. Clearly, I didn't lose the fat it shows. From what I see and my measurements, I think I didn't loose more than 4 of those things (in the picture, thinking of volume).

Every pound it's worth... but for me it is quite sad sometimes to thing that 75% of my loss is not really fat. :(

for what it's worth, my measurements havent gone down enough for 48 handfuls of fat. even though the loss won't be pure fat, some of it will be visceral fat. this is also called internal fat, and it's the fat that packs around your major organs. You can lose a few pounds of this without it making a significant difference to measurements, so try not to be too discouraged :)

also, if it bums you out that much, try visiting your gym and using an advanced body measurement scale that can tell you how much of your body is fat, muscle, water, etc. if you do this say once every other month or so, you'll get an accurate picture of how much fat you've lost :)
