    I'm proud to say I'm a Science Nerd! If it's medically related, I'm interested!
    I'm also new to MFP and would love to have some fellow nerdy friends who overuse exclamation marks!!!!

    •Discovery Networks channel (History, Science, NatGeo, etc.) shows
    •SciFi (especially Star Trek, all 5 series)
    •comic books (mainly Marvel, but also DC, Image, etc.)
    •old school video games (Atari thru 90's PC, thru 2000's coin-op); MAME, anyone?
    •too much other to detail here

    ***Edit to add that I've seen every ep of "The Big Bang Theory" and understand at least 90% of the physics spoken there. Higgs-Boson particles, anyone?

    Several shades of nerd, I suppose: sci-fi/fantasy nerd (books, television shows, movies), video game nerd, and graphic design nerd . :)

    Writing nerd (is this such a thing? I don't know. I'm a full-time writer.)
    Hardcore number-crunching gaming nerd (Think "Minus 50 DKP").
    Book nerd (non-fiction mostly!)
    Anime nerd
    Biology nerd
    Computer nerd (building, modding, fixing, etc)
    Programming nerd (Python)

    I am always looking to friend more math nerds to answer my endless math questions as I try to become one myself.

    I'm a mechanical engineer! My favorite class in college was Control Systems Design and Analysis!!!

    When my children ask me outlandish questions about the world, I give them the answer, including the physics behind it, which usually results in both of them yawning loudly and looking away. N3RD5 UN1T3!!

    Now I'm a weight loss nerd, obsessed with the numbers and how it affects weight loss/gain :wink:

    Techie computer nerd here (more infrastructure stuff now - haven't done programming in years). Which I balance out with being bookworm (fiction and non fiction / escapism and learning) and aromatherapy junkie. Now I'm just trying to translate some of that passion into my weight loss efforts.
