would you rather lose 500 calories per day via cardio ?

or 500 calories per day via nutritional deficit ?

i train weights 5/7 days per week and find it easier to do it this way ...

I hate cardio, but I love food.

This is too hard. But I would take the deficit and just sleep in later.

Through diet. Cheaper and saves time. And yeah, I don't like cardio.

Seeing as I have a lot to lose, I have a deficit from both. I never eat back all of my cardio calories, and never any from lifting because even though I have a HRM I don't trust it for that.
  • cardio....I love to eat : )

No brainer for me - cardio.
Releases all those happy drugs :D

Also my cardio is mostly out on the mountain bike getting dirty and having fun.
  • so its pretty one sided on the cardio front.....

Maybe a lot of those of us who don't like cardio are too lazy to reply
  • I vote for the cardio. I love me some cardio. It clears my head and my soul too. It's not just burning calories.
  • I did the eat less calories thing through my 20's and 30's and it mostly worked when I could stick to it, but now in my 40's, it doesn't work anymore. I can eat 900 calories and I don't lost any weight.

Start exercising when you're young and NEVER STOP! I wish I had!

The exercise. I love to eat too much, plus unless you have a calorie intact allowance of over 1500 taking a deficit of 500 isn't a good idea.

my weight training is very intense .....im a body builder so i eat clean and rain very hard...

i just find cardio mind numbing ......you find the opposite to be true....

my brother in law runs 1 hour a day ...he loves it .....i run to the train station ...hate it
  • Hmm both... I guess out of the two, cardio.

I guess it's easier for men to do diet since we can be at a deficit at a calorie level that would be beyond a safe bulking level for most women.

Yeah, I hate cardio. Definitely diet for me...but anything under 3000 is a cutting diet for me.

I think this is valid. A lot of the women on my friend's list struggle to eat at a deficit because it puts them super low. I'm almost 6' tall, I can be at a 1000 a day deficit and still eat 1800 calories haha.

Yeah I'm not sure at this point, but with as much as it has taken for me to gain, I'm thinking 2500ish might put me to -500

    LMAO!

I'm an unapologetic runner but as far as I'm concerned it's whatever floats your boat......

Eat fewer calories. You can actually eat MORE and consume fewer calories... just depends what you are eating.

I'd rather do half and half, 250 calorie deficit 250 calories burned..

But if I had to chose..

A few months ago I would have said calories because I was a lazy bum

But now, I'd say burn it, because I love food.

I would feel more accomplished losing it by cardio, but I am happy to lose it either way.

Since I'd be hangry if I just eat 500 calories less, and happy as a cat in a puddle of sunshine after a 5 mile run... cardio.
  • I seriously couldn't work out how to show that picture .. how did you manage it?

I created the meme nice and quick and then spent about 15mins not knowing how the hell to make it show..
