Vegetarian options

The last 6 or so months I have been really turned off by meat, and I've been considering becoming a vegetarian. Unfortunately I don't care much for tofu, and I'm not really sure what other staples to incorporate into the lifestyle! Can someone enlighten me on what some of the other options are to satisfy protein and whatnot? My husband and daughter would still eat meat, so I need meals that would work for everyone where I could add meat for them, or eliminate it for myself.

Former vegetarian checking in...it really isn't hard to get enough protein in as a non-meat eater. Beans, dairy (Fage Greek yogurt = 18 g for a 6 oz. cup!), eggs, quinoa, nut butters, cheese...you can probably Google for a comprehensive list.
As for satisfying meat and non-meat eaters in one meal, think of things where meat can be added:
Veggie and bean tacos or burritos- add chicken or beef or fish for the meat eaters
Homemade pizza- load on vegetable toppings and the meat eaters can add sausage, pepperoni, etc.
Indian and Thai meals are very vegetarian friendly cuisines that tend to satisfy meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Also, vegetarian chili tends to be hearty and is usually a crowd pleaser (sweet potato and black bean is really good).0 -
Beansand nuts are a great source or protein. But there is a little bit of protein in almost every veggie. Even though it is a relatively small amount when compared to a steak or some chicken, when you eat a lot of veggies it adds up. If you are still going to eat cheese and eggs, then you will get more than enough protein.0

Beans, Lentils and Legumes, Nuts, Broccoli, Oatmeal, Soy milk, Peanut butter etc. all have good percentage of proteins. Apart from that if you are continuing to consume eggs then it will be good for you.0

Thanks for the advice! I did some googling and asking around, and I think I have a good idea of how I could make it work. I guess I assumed I would need to match the protein I was getting in meat, but I'm a dairy lover, so I think I could get enough in just by upping veggies and a little dairy.
