Macros: Over on fat?

So I'm trying to pay more attention to macros for good health. In my experience, good macro ratios aren't necessarily needed for weight loss, but I want a good overall balance. I planned out my menu for tomorrow (planning is another thing I have to work on if I want to accomplish good macros), & really can't seem to stay under in fat. I'm on 1700 cal/day, & am using a macro breakdown on freedieting.com & using the "moderate ll" macros= 50/25/25. Is it terrible if I'm good on everything except fat? I'm over by 20 for fat & my menu looks realistically healthy to me. What are your opinions on this? Do I need to figure out other foods to fit in these ratios perfectly, or not worry about this too much? Don't really want to stress much about this, but want to be as accurate as I can without being too obsessed with the #'s...

I wouldn't worry too much about going over on fats, as long as they are the good ones such as HDL as opposed to LDLs. Ideally, you should try and stick to your calorie goal or requirements for the day.
Fats have bad press for the wrong reasons, you need fats for your body to function on a daily basis. Yes, in excess will cause problems but that is the same with anything. Carbohydrates are the macronutrient to restrict, especially if you have a desk job or are quite sedate during the day.
I've used 40/40/20 to lose weight (protein, fats and carbohydrates) and the fact I'm 19k lighter or nearly 42 lbs is the best indication that it works and works well.

Unless going over fats cause you to go over your calories or not get sufficient proteins and other nutrients, don't worry about it.
Also, if you want better control of your calorie and macro intake, try pre-logging your food.0 -
I go over my fat % most days because I get my fat from healthy things like dry roasted almonds and avocados. (The good fats). I am always within my net calorie goal.. and usually my carbs are well within... I do try to eat more calories in protein as I have a desk job and protein is my friend.

Same here and it doesn't worry me a bit. I have been going over in fat almost daily for 2 years and my most recent blood work shows a good all over cholesterol number and high HDL (good cholesterol). I also lost 30 pounds while eating this way and have maintained it.

My protein and fat goals are minimums. I don't worry about going over on either unless it puts me over my total calories.
I also prefer healthy fats like those found in brisket and pork ribs.0 -

Your macros are the same as mine. Sometimes I go over on fat and protein, but so long as it isn't due to an extra doughnut or something, then you're fine. It is definitely not anything to stress over.0 -
