Big breakfast/lunch, little dinner?

Yesterday I decided that eating too little at lunch and having a massive dinner was affecting my energy levels so I have opted to eat a larger breakfast and lunch and a smaller dinner...it worked well yesterday and I felt much better.

Has anyone else tried this/doing this?

What did you think and what sorts of meals were you eating? I've added nuts and seeds to my meals to add extra calories.

Actually, as I understand it, a bigger breakfast & lighter dinner is better for you.

Is there some science behind that? Or is it the obvious that you are burning the 'fuel' you are eating.

Yeah I've been playing around with this lately. I seem to be better off when I have a decent sized breakfast (around 300 cals), a larger lunch (around 450 cals), and a dinner smaller than lunch (400 cals) with snacks in between. I workout right when I get home from work, so I'm pretty much still depending on lunch (and snack) to power me through the workout. If I'm starving for dinner I tend to wipe out quicker.

I do this! I have a 400kcal breakfast, and a 400kcal lunch and the snacking will depend on my exercise program planned for the day. I workout at late afternoon so I NEED my fuel. When I come back home I feel more tired than hungry so my lighter dinner is more gentle on my stomach and lets me go to sleep earlier without any acid reflux episodes.

I don't do this every day but I try to eat most of my calories earlier in the day. It puts me in a good mood to eat well so that's a bonus that helps me workout harder in beast mode ;)

I try to do this, because I feel like it would help with energy.
Usually I fail at it haha. I just don't feel as hungry/am busy earlier in the day.
I get rather sick when I workout if I have a big lunch too - we have lunch at noon and I work out right when I get home, around 5. If I had a bigger lunch I get sick. ;/
