Hello amsme. I stopped smoking once and gained weight and all i did was eat and sit. so i started smoking thinking the same as you but thats the wrong kind of thinking. you have to get moving and watch what you eat. please don't start smoking you will be sorrry. i still smoke and i'm overweight and mfp has helped with weight loss. you are on the right track starting here, just give it time. and in the furture you can help me to stop smoking.0

Yes, it happened to me. I gave up smoking in 2005 and steadily put weight on. I tried diets and like you I thought of starting again. That would be pointless because I would have put on the weight for nothing. If I started again I would still have been fat and I would have been back to smoking too.
You have done really well in giving up for 7 weeks. The worst is almost over, if it isn't already. Stick with it and stay with mfp to try and loose the weight. Sometimes it is better to do one thing at a time. Get over the cravings for smoking before you start loosing the weight. Unless of course, you feel strong enough to do both.
I wish you luck in both. Just don't start smoking again please.0 -
That happened to me I quit smoking for 5 weeks and started my diet at the same time 4 weeks went by and I only lost like 4 lbs, had a friend start diet same time and she was droping lbs like crazy so I started smoking again. I know its sad, but once I get where I want to be I will try to quit smoking again. Its been 3 months now and I have lost 30 lbs now still have a few more to go. Good luck with whatever you do.0
