I just wanted some thoughts on the poem I wrote to convince my boyfriend to move interstate to be with me. This was a year and a half ago..

I love the way that you laugh,
And I love the way you smile.
I wish that you and I could have,
more than just a little while.
There is so much I want to say,
And so much I want to do.
There’s so much I need to tell you,
To show my love for you.
Can you see that I’m in love,
with the person that you are?
You’re the only one I trust,
with my life and with my heart.
I need you more than you realise,
You make me want to live each day
That feeling sadly disappears,
Every time you’re far away.
I know my heart beats for you
And I know you feel the same.
So I’ve come to this conclusion:
To treat love like a game.
A game of risk and danger,
Of disappointment and of trust.
A game that can’t be played alone,
Where teamwork is a must.
There isn’t one who wins,
Or one who walks in shame.
Instead, two people leave,
With a prize that both can claim.
I need your help in life,
To build the life that we both dream.
I can build a boat,
But will you be my stream?
I know that we will always grow close,
In mind and in our hearts.
But what’s essential for our love,
Is gone when we’re apart.
Distance proves a struggle,
When you’re all that makes me, me.
But I dare not ask too much,
So your choices remain free.
