Rewards?

Do you guys have rewards that you give yourself if you meet a goal Or after a great workout?
I'm trying to give myself some rewards to look forward to.
Like:
- A Hershey's kiss every time I burn 300 calories. (Cause I love me some chocolate.)
- Fast food (carefully chosen and not as bad for me fast food) every Friday if I've met my work out goals for the week.
- New fitness toys every time I hit a weight goal. (Like a step counter, a new workout DVD, a bike etc.)
Do you guys have anything like this? I want to reward myself for my "good behavior" and also motivate myself a bit more to get those rewards. (So I'm kind of hoping your ideas will inspire more for me.)

I find working towards a reward helps me. My first goal was to lose 25 LBS. I did that and ended up gaining some of it back between august and September. Now I am getting back on track and once I lose another 25 LBS I am going to go get my hair done. I talked to the lady that does my hair and told her I was going to let her do whatever she wants to it. I am letting it grow until I reach that 25LBS Here is a list of things I have for rewards. I am in a group of ladies on facebook and we have a contest going on for who can do the most crunches during a 4 week period. Whoever wins I will get them a prize. If I win I am going to get myself a new work out dvd or work out gear.
Have a special dinner
Buy yourself a book or borrow one from a friend or the library
Get new shoes
Get some type of exercise equipment/gear: hand weights, resistance bands, dvds, bike, kettle bells, pedometer
Buy yourself some make up
A new CD
Lotion
Have your partner give you a massage
Put money in a jar for every pound or inch you lose.
Start a collection buy yourself something for it every time you lose x amount of weight.
Have a leisurely day at the park with someone.
Go to an art museum or art show
Redecorate your space in the house or any space. Move things around change things up a bit
get a tattoo or piercing
Get a hair cut
Get hair colored
Take a relaxing candle lit bath
Get something for the kitchen to help prepare better meals or food
Join a special interest group
Erotic favors. I will just leave it at that so no one turns red or gets offended.
Spend time with your loved one
Do something you love but don't get to often
Get yourself some flowers
Go window shopping
Clean your car
Plant a tree
Call someone you haven't called in a while
Go camping
Go on a hike you haven't been able to do
Plan a vacation
Have a pedicure or manicure (even if you do it yourself)
Go to the spa (or have a spa day at home)0 -
My weightloss and the needed new clothes have been enough of a reward, but when I tried (and failed) to lose weight years ago I had similar rewards as you - the piece of chocolate and the take out. My advice is DITCH the food rewards. Food got you into this mess don't put it up on a pedestal and work towards it or you will struggle to change your attitude towards food in the future.
I'm not saying never have chocolate (I have one almost every night!) or takeout, but definitely don't make it a motivator.0 -

Amen to Zourika's response!
And believe me, I struggle with that so much! I find I end up bargaining with myself to get more of the junk food I love. And I look forward to a day when eating right actually feels like what I WANT to do instead of what I HAVE to do. If I use food as a reward for my weight loss, it only reinforces my beliefs that I DON'T actually WANT to eat right.0 -
I also agree with the previous poster - Food should not be a reward.
To be really successful at this long term you need to change your relationship with food. You can still have chocolate or take outs but they are not 'treats' and they should not be so often. Your motivator for burning 300 calories should be fat loss. Your motivator for a good workout week should be the feeling you know you will get when you've done it - you'll have a natural high instead of needing chocolate induced highs.
My personal list of rewards are for when i reach my weight goal. My body composition goal will take much longer but the reward for that is looking good naked and feeling great.
Tattoo of start weight on wrist £40
Wedding ring resize £20
Tirup swivel armchair £325
Fashionable jeans £120
Other clothes £4000
