Should I log the hours I spend standing in work?!?

I work shifts & I'm on my feet for hours at a time. I log the hours I spend standing but feel a bit silly doing it. Does anyone else log it. (It's not the only exercise I get, by the way, I run, do some videos & dumb bells etc.) thank you

I would adjust your activity level up to at least "lightly active" if it isnt already there. If you are doing labor type work, bump it to active.0

No, this should be factored into your activity level.0

Thanks. I work in Holland & Barrett so it's not really labour like work apart from delivery day once a week which can involve a lot of lifting and running up & down stairs. It's mostly walking around, tidying up, helping customers etc. I know it's burning calories but its not a workout so I always feel silly adding it to my workouts but I wanted to make sure that they were vein taken into account. If upping my activity to lightly active will do that then I guess I stop logging it0

Personally i dont log anything that i dont consider exercise outside my normal routine. I work on my feet all day ( dry cleaners and retail) but if im not breaking a sweat or getting my heart rate up to me its not exercise and worth logging. Some people log cooking and cleaning but for me thats just normal stuff . jmho0

Personally I don't even bother loggin excercise. One of the reasons is I find if I logged excercise it would give me an excuse to eat more and secondly the amount of people I see on here who log stupid amounts of calories burned from excercise I feel over exaggerate alot0

That's exactly how I felt but logged it anyway haha. I've upped my activity level like advised & I'm going to stop logging it.0 -

^ this.
I walk a mile to and from work, but I do it everyday, so it's just part of my routine. I don't log it as exercise.
Someone on my friends list does log her work activity, as '8 hours of standing', and it gives her a burn of nearly 900 cals. You couldn't eat all that back and your normal allowance and not gain weight.0 -
Good Luck on your journey! :drinker:
Thank yougood luck to you too

I too am on my feet for the 12 hours of my shift and as my doctor once told me.."it's not exercise it just gives you tired feet". That was years ago and have to say I still agree with him.0

so if your on your feet for 8 hours....doing a bit of activity....why not log 3...4....hours light walking....0

I wouldn't. That would be like me logging the hours I sit on my *kitten* at work. I'm burning calories but don't really think it counts as excerise. OP am I reading your ticker right? You want to weigh 80lbs?0
