But, and I think we can all appreciate this, my husbands elementary was called. Skanq Elementary (it's spelled some odd way, but pronounced skank) and the mascot was a skunk!!! Absolutely fantastic way to make fun of him on occasion.

A cowboy with two pistols...until they said it promoted violence and gave him a lasso instead.....:grumble:

And then our rivals were the Yellow Jackets(as in the type of bee) lol, so that was just weird.

We were the Dixie Rebels..

Our mascot was some old white guy. They're still fighting to change it to a duck or anything else that's at least a little bit less racist.
