I have just started working out this week, and today I was at the gym around an hour and a half to two hours.. I put everything into MFP as I went. When I got done, I looked at my total, and it said 787 calories burned. I was super excited at first.. but then I got to wondering if that was actually a lot. I'm 25 and 302 lbs if that helps determine. Just need advice!

edit: i guess i should be more specific.. is it a lot for someone at my weight and age to burn that much? i was proud because I kept at it, and ended up burning a lot of calories! Am I about average, below or higher than other people around the same as me do you think? i pretty much just want to know if i need to step up my game!

I think that MFP is a little high. I think the most accurate is wearing a HRM. Also, I use this website to double check. It is a little lower than MFP but I feel like it is more accurate.

    Hope that helps.

its all in my diary if you want to look there.. i did a half hour of strength training, 20 min of treadmill, 10 min on arc trainer, 10 min. on bike, and 5 min on elliptical.

It all comes down to level of intensity. You could be strolling on the treadmill while reading a book or puffing and panting on the verge of passing out.

Having said that though, 700-800 seems like a pretty reasonable number for that amount of time at a moderate intensity.

That doesn't seem high to me for the amount of time & your weight. I started at 314 & am currently 211. You'll notice as your weight goes down, so will the amount of calories you burn. Keep up the great work! You'll start noticing big changes pretty quickly. =)
