I think I need to start by saying MFP ROCKS!

*Little Head-Banging Dude goes here!

I've been around for about 15 months.

Lost 27ish kilos watching what I ate and after the first few months exercising - even started road running. ANYBODY who knows me would be amazed!

My boss asked me if he could feel my tummy - some of you may be horrified by this... It was the BIGGEST compliment ever!

:flowerforyou:

(He's not a perve or anything... You need to know him to understand him!)

*Flabbergasted Dude goes here!

Well work got on top of me. Stopped exercising and started eating less healthy stuff - those other things are SOOO much easier to grab and go!!! (We all know the excuses!) Put on a bit of weight again - OK... You got me... 5kgs...

Well... I decided that the only thing I can control at the moment is diet so I'd better do at least that. (I'm not doing well but it's better than nothing!)

:grumble:

I've lost the 5kgs and a few 'grams' more so I decided to try on my favourite trousers again - they used to do me OK!

They're TIGHT and hugging in all the wrong places!!!

So, same weight but still don't fit my clothes!!!

:noway:

I never would have thought it would make THIS much difference.

A pity I don't have photos!

Anybody else noticed the same?

Exercise isn't absolutely needed for fat loss, however, it is critical for maintaining weight/body composition once you hit goals. In a nutshell, include exercise while you supply your body with adequate energy to meet daily demands so you will get a head start and keep being active once you reach your goals to make maintaining your results far more easy.

Someone put it to me this way: Dieting is to look good in clothes, exercise is to look good naked.

By exercising I lose an extra .3 pounds a week and can also feel a good bit of muscle around my thighs and arms.

So yeah, I think it is worth it. And there are all of the health benefits to consider.

I would hate to be the thin person out of breath walking up a flight of stairs.

For someone who hates exercise this is going to be HARD! Work has gone mental - somehow I could MAKE myself go running at 2am before, now I just need sleep! I'm feeling a yoyo moment coming on!

    :frown:

I'm at work for the day but will be back to see what others think later.

Thanks for the info 'Geek' I will need to be considering priorities me thinks!

    diet impacts weight loss.

exercise impacts fat loss and lean mass retention/building.
