Making a "come back"

My profile picture is the "old me"; I used to be in shape and athletic.

College, back problems, and poor habits led to gaining over 100 pounds.

I am 30 years old; I weighed 160 in 2000, 200 in 2004 and peaked at 280 in 2007. I have been fluctuating back and forth since 07.

I have been back to the gym for 11 weeks; I am down to 257 and I feel strong.

I am here to look for new ideas and strategies to continue the quest!

Just make a commitment to log the food daily. Sounds like you are doing great at the gym! Friend of mine had lost 70 lbs and was stuck losing the last 30 so he joined MFP and told me about it. Didn't know if i was ready to change my life, but I am! One day at a time. I just log and it encourages me to move more so I can eat a bit more. Have only lost 16 lbs since Sept but I am old and very sedentary. Going to take a while to get my groove on :P

This is a great place. The forums can be very helpful. Getting friends and seeing how they eat and their successes has also been helpful to me.

    Blessings.

There are so many inspirational stories on here. It helps me to read some of them daily--I say: I CAN do it! I've been able to shed 54 pounds since last January, and 38 of them since I've been on MFP. I am too sedentary, but my knees and hips feel better than in many years. I can walk longer, faster, and even uphill without having to stop and catch my breath. Starting tonight, I'm back to some of my exercise videos. Also hoping "Santa" has a treadmill in his bag for me now that the weather is colder. You've made a great start and I think the reason for my success is my commitment to log in my food, even when it makes me cringe! Good luck.
