Best friends....going beyond the call of duty.........

I was inspired to do this tread because of another thread. Everyone has friends, but I think we each have 5 friends or less that will go the distance. They keep you safe and sometimes alive. They let you make the stupidest mistakes, laugh at you, but know when to drag your *kitten* away from the situation. The fight for you when you cannot fight for yourself. This thread is about what your closest friends did for you, that only they would have done.

For me, It was a situation when I was 18. I had lost it, and was making a scene because I was out of my mind and bat-*kitten* crazy. My friends heard rumors going around the club that some guy had lost his ****. Since I was not where they could see me they came out to see what was going on. As they were coming closer, they heard that someone had called the police. What did they do, They picked me up over their shoulders, threw me in the truck and got my *kitten* out of there.

Good friends, even in bad times.

I have no friends either. I HAD a best friend, until she got drunk one night and started sexting my husband. Stupid b*tch. So now I've got no friends and I rather like it that way. Less hassle.

I'm the type of friend who keeps his mouth shut, a shovel and plastic tarp handy, an alibi current and will delete your hard drive when you die. I expect the same from my true friends. My other friends just need not annoy me and we're good.

Hey, what a coincidence. I did this for my friend. It was in her hair, all over her bed. It was super gross. Then she tried to f**k my husband. Lol. yes. I am bitter. Friends suck. Dogs rule.

Good thread, I have one of those friends. She opened her doors to me and my kids, when my then husband turned to crack and alcohol. I had to leave my house to which I was paying the mortgage and stayed with her for three months until the judge gave me back my house. She prayed with me, she prayed for me, she held me accountable when I wanted to go back, because it was my house and my kids deserved to sleep in their own rooms. Her mom gave up her room so me and my kids didn't have to sleep on the floor. Her mom bathe my kids, when the day was too stressful and she ironed their clothes when mommy was rushing. She was ready to fight when my ex- came to her house drunk out of his mind.

She was there when I got married and she was right there when the judge decreed my divorce... My Girl!!!

I don't have any offline friends who would do anything for me.

But once my coworker dropped medicine on my desk because I was sick. :)

I have my husband. He is the only person I trust with my life, and the only person, other than my kids, for whom I would lay down my own life.

Oh my word, I LOVE YOU! Potterheads unite!!!

I just moved across the country from my best friends. Thank heavens for facebook because we talk every day still, but it's hard. I'd feel pretty lonely here if I wasn't lucky enough to have a best friend for a husband! Still, it's hard without some girl power close by.

I would literally be lost or dead without my best friends. 2 of them in particular. I lost my fiance to a heart attack in April, he was 25 and we were together since we were 13, and I hit rock bottom after he died, a lot of it is a blur to me but they never left my side. Other "best" friends did, and don't bother contacting me now.

My 2 best friends have saved my life, just by being funny, fun, taking me out, giving me hope, helping me to be positive and to realise I still have a future. They go above and beyond and I'm so grateful, I don't thank them enough. It's so good to have good friends. They knew I was lost in the world, and I was in hell, and they never left me or never let me fall flat on my face like I wanted to. And now I'm able to look forward to the future, because of them  :flowerforyou:

    My girls

I often feel I no longer have a best friend. I have my SO and that's about it. I have 3-4 friends I have coffee with each week; they are my only friends. I thought I had friends back home but it seems moving away has weakened those bonds.

I thought I had the best friend but she kept taking advantage of me. Once or twice I am ok with but to repeatedly do it. I had to end it.

I have three compadres that I couldn't do without.

    1. Has been there since I moved from SA to the US at the tender age of 14. She knows where every body is buried. Better keep her close.

    2. Has been there since day 1 of freshman year of college. He regularly kicks my *kitten* at sports and races and stuff and could give the Dos Equis guy a run for his money in terms of "Most Interesting Man Alive"... together we're pretty much unstoppable and every girlfriend he's ever had has hated my guts.

    3. Has been there since I moved to Boston three years ago. She even joined my footy team because I was having issues with the captain and needed backup. I don't see her as much as I'd like but we have a freaking ball every time we're together, and on the footy field, well nobody effs with the "smash sistahs".

This one almost made me cry too. You have some amazing friends. That would be a most difficult situation. I can't even imagine.

My friends saved me when I was very depressed... literally. If you get my drift.

They then held my hand and buoyed me up in the ensueing weeks until I became stable.

And there were indeed 5 of them.
