Bowel Movements and working out

Posting this for a friend, who is shy and not seeking the attention...but here is the question....

"Riddle me this - I just *think* about going to the gym and suddenly I feel like I have to poop. WTF is all that about?!"

Does anyone else have this problem.....needing to poop just prior to, or during their workout? Why do you think this happens, and what can one do about it?

    My first stop is usually the bathroom. If not on the way in, before I lift anything heavy. I don't see it as a problem. The body wants to get rid of stuff before operating under stress. Probably a good thing.
