Weight fluctuating or not losing weight?

I have been following MFP for about a month, but I have not lost any weight! I have taken a few days off when I go on vacation or for Thanksgiving, but I would have imagined that my calorie deficit would have balanced out these off days. I play basketball, so I am very active most days. The only thing that concerns me is when I step on a scale I seem to be gaining, not losing, weight! What's wrong with me?

Could always be muscle. Also, your diary's closed so it's hard to tell how much of a deficit you're getting and even then what you're eating on that deficit.

You may be underestimating your portions or overestimating calorie burn... If you put "ACTIVE" as your level of activity level and then add the individual exercise components then it is possible that you are overestimating the calorie burn by factoring it twice. Otherwise, it is conceivable (though unlikely in most cases) that your calorie intake is too low and you could have a slowed metabolism as a result.. Again, I suggest this to be unlikely in this case. Since you have taken some time off (such as many of us have this past month or so with the holidays) you may want to continue your current plan for a while longer and see what happens.

Well have you tried eating your BMR (you can google BMR calculators:)) ? I actually had experience the same problem i had stop loosing weight and gained because I was not eating enough :) 1200 calories is too little. I try to eat at least 1700 (my BMR) and I have started to lose weight much faster :) try this out and also eat plenty of fruits vegetables nuts meat etc. Avoid : cereals like special K or anything that is labeled as "healthy" and it comes in a box or wrapper :) You only have to try your best! wish you luck! BTW check out the psychetruth channel on youtube look up the playlist that contains corrina and nutrition (something like that) she has plenty of information on nutrition hope this helps !
