I am always HUNGRY!

I work night shift mostly 12 hours at a hospital. I am up mostly when everybody is asleep. Did I mention I am always hungry lol! If I am not asleep during the day time I most eat something in order to keep from being exhausted. In addition to that if I work out that makes me hungry and eating carbs right before bed is a bad idea. I can cook barely or at least I can say it is not moo or clucking on my plate. I am trying to figure out what I can manage to eat to stay full longer. Old fashion oatmeal is the only meal I can eat to fill me up for hours. Does anybody have any tips out there that are healthy and reasonable to incorporate into my lifestyle?

Well how many meals are you having?

Having tea throughout that day really helps - just start drinking teas switch them up if you find that you not looking forward to your next cup
    Increase your water intake
Because of your work schedule - take along your own trail mix - nuts dried fruits dark chocolate ...
    Banana
    Yoghurt w/ active cultures

One step at a time !!!

Start eating more protein. If you eat foods like bread, pasta, chips, etc you won't get full. Stock up on chicken breast, fish etc.

I work 12's at work and they're nights....I eat my big meal before I go to work, take a protein bar with me to work and eat it along with some oatmeal or some light popcorn or veggies, then when I get home I have an egg beaters omlet or something fairly low in carbs/high protein before I go to bed....sometimes this isn't how I do it but usually is how I do it....

I work night shift too...and if I don't get enough sleep during the day I am starvin' marvin--and i will crave grains! what i do is i eat 'breakfast' when i get up in the afternoon; then it's lunch or snack before i head to work and my last meal is between 2and 4am...kind of how people don't eat after 6 or 7 pm, allowing time for their food to digest before bed. Just know that I truly feel your pain! lol...I appreciate you working nights! somebody has to do it! =)
