Leg Workouts?

This may sound stupid, but I'm looking for some suggestions for leg exercises that are NOT squats or lunges. My knees have been giving me some problems lately, so I want to take it easy on them for a little while. Unfortunately, all of the exercises my trainer has shown me so far involve some form of squat or lunge.

So, any suggestions? Please and thank you!

I have a similar problem and I've been doing stiff legged deadlifts for my glutes and hamstrings. Also try box squats. You lean a little further back so it doesn't put as much strain as a regular squat. Good Luck!

Stiff legged dead lifts def. I know you said not squats but you could try wall squats with an exercise ball. They are actually great in getting you really leaning into your butt and take some pressure off the knees.

My main problem is that I get to about a 45 degree angle, sometimes less sometimes more, and my knees start to lock up. And it is extremely painful. But I can certainly give these a try. :)

Look up "pop-pilates" on youtube. There are loads of good leg workouts on there that don't involve squats or lunges.

The good thing about those you have the support behind you so only have to go as far as you're comfortable and you won't fall on your *kitten* lol. (I've had knee problems as well with them locking up on me but for me it's with lunges lol). I actually find them a little more effect for me personally then regular squats b/c I can really push my hips back good and really target my butt lol.

If you have a Pinterest account then they have a lot of leg exercises to do. I've been looking at a lot of them lately and adding them to my fitness board.
