I wanna make this clear. This is a post for people who have tattoos, people who like tattoos, people who are curious about tattoos. Nothing but good vibes! If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.
I just read an awesome post from pilatemom about how tattoos make her feel better. It's true, tattoos do make you feel good about yourself. So, what are your tattoos? What do they mean? Do you have a favorite?
I myself have 10, and even though I've slowed down, I want to get many, many more. My first one, (not in order) was the kanji symbol on my left wrist. It's Dad in Japanese. The numbers are #2, top when he was born, bottom when he died. #3 was DNR over my heart. do not resuscitate. I got it as a joke, and I still love it. #4 Is my tramp stamp. friend did it in high school. it was a symbol I used as my signature, heart with an X through it. #5 was the pumpkin on my right ankle. #6 was Dominatio Per Malum X for my 18th birthday present to me. #7 was my bat heart bracelet on my right wrist. #8 was my chest piece. MY FAVORITE! I love it because it tells me on how people will react and treat me, based on what they see. There are many different symbols in there. Capricorn, pagan, wicca, the devil, the scapegoat. I'm a junkie for mythology and always, when entering the underworld, they would have to sacrifice a goat for safe passage, hence scapegoat. < 19th birthday present #9 is my SINNER tat on my neck. Wanted it to look cut into me and he did an awesome job. Did it about 2 hours before a Trivium concert. and # 10, 1:11 with bat hearts. That is the time my daughter, Pandora, was born.

I dont have an actual count, but ive almost completed my entire arm. Mine are all biblical and feminine, and all mean something to me. I have my right arm almost completed, 1 on my left arm, 1 on my ankle, some on my shoulder blade, and my eye brows, lipliner, and and eye liner tattooed also. Im actually very a conservative, God loving, politically active, wife and mother of 5. I guess sometimes people are a little shocked when I wear short sleeves, but, hey... I LOVE TATTOOS!0

right on! major props to the facial ones. I don't have the guts to get anything on my face. can't do eyebrows cause of scars. but they sound beautiful0

Here's mine...got this for my mom after she passed away in April. It's an Amaryllis flower which is the huntington's disease flower.

I love all my tattoos.0 -
I got my first tattoo when I was forty, a small flower on my toe. I had a very poor self image my entire life and one day my best friend said there has to be at least one thing you like about your body. I told her the only part of me I thought was pretty were my feet. a few days later she gave me a really pretty toe ring as a reminder to love myself. I really liked it but I have tender feet and it hurt so badly I just couldn't wear it. I figured I'd get it tattooed on since it would only hurt for a little while and would basically be a permanent piece of jewelry.
Not too long after that I started wearing a little bit of makeup, eyeliner and lip gloss. The eyeliner was just plain irritating, so I had it tattooed on.
I also have a hip bracelet of plumeria flowers, the pattern from my baby bowl and baby cup. I didn't have the nicest childhood so I chose that pattern as acknowledgement that everything I experienced made me the person, wife and mother that I became.
My favorite tattoo is a charm bracelet around my upper arm. It has my children's names and the following charms: a zia, the lone cypress and a Minoan axe. It is the story of my life. The zia is for New Mexico where I was born and raised, the lone cypress is for Monterey, CA where was I went to language training school and where I fell in love for the very first time, the Minoan axe is for Crete, where I experienced my most personal growth and which is my favorite place on earth.
I'm sure at some point I will get another tattoo, but I am waiting for the right inspiration.0 -

I love tattoos. Every time I get to w goal weight I get one. When I lost 10lbs, I got one on my side, a quote from Desiderata, 'go placidly amid the noise and haste' with owls and birds. I have a heart and star on my wrists and a dove on my back. I'll probably get my next one when I get to 25 lbs lost. Woot0

My grandpa used to dance with my sister and me to this song. She and I decided to get matching tattoos and decided on this phrase. It's in my grandfather's handwriting. He was the most important person in my life and he passed away last summer... so glad I have this tattoo. Before he died he told me that this tattoo made him realize that I truly did care about him... I never knew that he doubted that for a minute. The only regret I have relating to this tattoo is that it's not in a more visible place (I can't easily see my shoulder).0 -

I have a red, white and blue rose over my heart with the date 9-11-01 and a monarch butterfly on some flowers on my shoulder blade in memory of my parents. I'd post pics but it doesn't seem to work when I try.0
