Hell yes! That drives me crazy.:explode:
I love anything by Neil Gaiman
And 'The Silver Metal Lover' by Tanith Lee.0 -
-deer in the headlights-
I always feel overwhelmed when asked to pick my favorite. I don't know where to start! I usually have to break it down by genre, then sub-genre, then author. Some current favorites:
Anne Bishop (ALL of her written books. I own every last one)
Brent Weeks (Night Angel Trilogy/ Lightbringer Trilogy)
Peter V. Brett (the Demon Cycle)
Orson Scott Card (Tales of Alvin Maker)
Yeah those are the top four right now. I usually find an author and fixate, so my collection at home is mostly fantasy, and while I have literally hundreds of books, I have very few authors I just get ALL their stuff.0 -
Dr. Seuss - Green Eggs and Ham
Thank you sam I am:laugh:0 -

I am the same. I go through phases. I love classics. Read everything by Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Love historical based books whether biogarphical or fiction. Usually stick to a certain era at a time-Diary of anne Frank, Farewell to Manzanar, Summer of my German Soldier (are all ones that stick out from High School). I think my love of books started when I was a little girl with the Little House series and the Anne of Green Gables series. Also love short Story books like ones by Robert Fulghum or the Chicken soup series.0 -

This is hard for me I read alot. I can go through a book in a day if not 2 books..
The wheel of time - Robert Jordon/Brandon Sanderson(took over after RJ died) It is a 13 book series with the final one coming out in January
Kim Harrison's Whitch series,
Anne Bishops Black Jewel trilogy
Raymond Fiest - all the Kondor books (i think there 25 or more)
Like I said I read alot :blushing:0 -
I have so many favorites! I like a lot of books by Stephen King and Terry Pratchett0
-
I really liked Clan of the Cave Bear, as well as it's sequel (I forgot the sequel's name). There are other books in the series that I haven't read yet, but I really like the series so far. By Jean Auel.0

I can't say I have a "favorite" I like to read David Baldachi, Patricia Cornwell, James Paterson, etc.
If you want something different, try Spencer Quinn and Andrew Peterson.
I've been buying $0.0, $1.99 and $2.99 books for my kindle fire and am loving trying new authors.0 -

I saw Raymond Fiest and I remembered one of his books that has been a favorite of mine since I was 10 years old - Faerie Tale0 -
Between, Georgia - Joshilyn Jackson......it's mainly just about the dynamics of a dysfunctional family in a very small town. I cry like a baby every single time though!
The Gargoyle - Andrew Davidson.....a porn star was severely burned in a car wreck. He meets a crazy woman in the hospital and she tells THEIR love story, over and over, through hundreds of years. It's a little fantasy, which I never thought I'd like, but man, her stories of love are incredible!
The Hour I First Believed - Wally Lamb.....fictional story, but about the Columbine shooting. I was surprised I liked it, since it's wayyy longer than most books I've read. It did sidetrack in a few parts, but overall it was very good! Very emotional.0 -
Animal Days is also a good book. It's an autobiography by Desmond Morris. There are so many parts of the book that had me laughing out loud! He is a pretty good writer for someone whose life was focused on art and zoology.0

I enjoyed:
The immortal series- alyson noel
The house fo night series- P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
Rose Madder- Stephen King
Skye O'malley- Bertrice Small0 -
I am a bookaholic so cannot choose but I am reading the sequel to The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss that someone else mentioned above and both the sequel (A Wise Man's Fear) and the first one are sooooo good. Best books I've read in a couple of years! Highly recommended.0

I also like to read nonfiction. A book I really like is called, "The Source of All Things" by Tracy Ross. It's a difficult and personal subject matter about how she was abused by her stepfather, but she talks about how she finds healing in nature and being active.0
-
Not sure I could ever choose a favorite book when I can't even choose a favorite author lol. I just finished reading Jessica Andersen's "The Final Prophecy" series which was amazing! It was a romance/action/science type book based on Mayan cultures and of course the 2012 doomsday count down. Definitely a must read for anyone who enjoys action and likes anything to do with Archaeology/Anthropology.
Typically I read Iris Johansen, Stephen King, James Patterson, and other mystery/sci-fi/horror authors. I read "The Hunger Games" trilogy earlier this year in just a few short weeks. It was a great series too definitely better than the movie!
Happy Reading Everyone!0 -
Gone with the Wind.
But the sequel, written in like the 1990's I think, and by a completely different author is absolutely awful. I couldn't get more than 1/4-1/3 of the way through it......0 -
Mists of Avalon is my number one.0
-
Gone with the Wind.
Love that one too!0 -
I love The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. All of my other favorites are from high school like catch-22 and Brave New World.0
