Are fat burners considered diet pills?

Or can they be considered a supplement to your workouts?
Should I be taking supplements before my work outs?
Is there anything I can do or take to give my workouts an extra ummph or is all of that considered taboo?
Thanks?

You are wasting your money.
It's calories in vs calories out. Take a good hard look at your diet, count calories, and re-assess what you are eating.
It's the only way, and doesn't cost a dime.0 -
Don't waste your money on fat burners. However, you absolutely can some sort of stimulant before your workout. The cheapest option would be caffeine pills. There are HUGE variety of more sophisticated pre-workout supplements you can take, but I have to know what type of workout routine you follow before I can recommend any.0

I second Caffeine pills. I don't take them religiously before workouts (actually the last time i took them was during my exams!) but they do make a huge difference if I'm feeling a little less energetic than I'd like.0

I have used Hydroxycut and it wasn't that great.. I do have this natural one in my protein, Nar Labs 100% whey, which I think has definately helped, ALONG WITH MY GOOD DIET.. Most people assume it's the miracle cure, but sadly not so much0

Well right now I only do the elliptical and fast pace walk for about 4-5 miles but I really Really want to start workIng. Out with weights and do the strong lift programs.
I know it's calories in calories out.. This isn't my first rodeo but I just wanted to see if here was something out there to supplement my workouts so I can work out harder..0 -
Yeah, I'm not really looking for something like hydroxy cut, I consider that a diet pill and I have been there done that...
I was thinking of natural supplements, or something that helps my workouts burn that fat faster0 -

Caffeine pills should do the job, along with a good diet. Try to make use of your food diary. It's the number one tool you should have for losing fat.0 -

It did not let me go harder. It let me complete more intervals at my targeted intensity (6 intervals of 8 minutes, up from 4 intervals without it)0 -
Be a bit conscious with caffeine pills until you know your reaction. Caffeine pushes some people's heart rate up significantly which can translate to increased burns but it can also cause health problems. I happen to be one of those people and instead of helping with my workout it makes me feel like crap because my heart is trying to beat out of my chest.0

Yeah, I don't do well with caffeine either0

While obviously not a miracle cure, gaspari detonate is good in my opinion, I have only tried it, but would use it for periods if I had the money. Good for appetite supression if you need it, good thermogenic effect and extra energy. As far as preworkouts go my favourite one I have tried is cellucor c4 extreme.0

Why recommend all these hardcore supplements for someone who does elliptical work? What horrible advice.0 -
Nothing you buy in a pill is going to make you burn fat faster.0
