Lifting heavier weights

I have been lifting the traditional 3 sets of 10 forever now and have kind of gotten to a stand still... I read somewhere that you should lift heavier weights so I just changed to 4 sets of 6 and increased the weight and feel like its helping. Anyone have any information about this or experience?? I stumbled across an older before/after pictures post on here and everyone had amazing results, but nobody ever really said specifically what exercises they do in the gym?!

Once you can do your sets well, that's when it's time to add more weight. You won't be able to complete those sets right away with the extra weight, but keep going until you get there.0
