Standing Tall

If you haven't already seen this article in the NY Times about standing versus sitting, I would advise anyone that is intent on losing weight giving it some serious thought.

Note: The title is a little misleading. The findings in the study referenced apply to those who don't work as well.

I've had a standing desk for almost two years now. I didn't get it explicitly for weight loss, but I did to improve my circulation and increase my metabolism.

Nothing fancy - just my keyboard and mouse on a board and my monitor on a box. I do have a stool to lean on when I get tired, but I can't sit to work.
  • I just tried it out today by putting my laptop of a bookshelf and I actually prefer working on my computer this way. I am seriously considering revamping my office.
