Tattoo Question
I was mountain biking today and cut too close to a tree branch which raked across my shoulder, tore my shirt open, and put a nice deep scrape across a tattoo I have there. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what I should put on it- if anything. I Googled it but all I found are warnings not to use Neosporin or ointments on new tattoos for aftercare- this one is around five years old but I'm hoping it will heal up intact and not be all messed up now. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Just wash it really good with non scented soap and water. If it does look like it's getting infected get some A and D ointment.0

Wash with mild perfume free soap and water, and you can use Bepanthem nappy rash cream on it to aid healing. Bepanthem is a recommended cream for new tattoos so it'll be fine.0

keep the skin moisturized. Vit E oil is good for the skin0

Scrapes from branches, which are very dirty, can cause infection. If it is red or swollen see a physician immediately. Otherwise neosporin will not hurt your 5 year old tattoo and it's better than getting a serious bacterial infection! Good Luck!0

clean it good & as its healing keep it moisturized with unscented undyed lotion (my personal recommendation is aveeno)0
