Hi guys,
I've just started myfitnesspal and loving it :)
could do with a bit of help with my diet.
This is my daily goal: Cal: 1,200, Carbs: 165, Fat: 40, Protein: 45.

every day I have loads of calories left and hardly any of the others left e.g., Cal:186, Carbs: 8, Fat: 20, Protein: 1

I've a good enough diet but like plain food- like my chicken, pasta, rice, sauces, fruit, veg, etc.
I don't like peanut butter and bread doesn't agree with me :(
any help would be great. Thanks

i cant see your diary to see what exactly you have been eating. Are you working out at all? Did MFP put you at 1200 or did you?
  • I just walk. don't really do much else. do a 40 min walk at least 4 times a week.

MFP put me on 1200 but I want to loose a lot of weight so is that ok?

I think MFP puts way too little protein in your diet!
If you're walking and just doing light excercise thats fine! but I'd suggest a low carb diet with higher protein to lose fat much more quickly & a lot less painfully (truly it is!), like south beach diet (aka mediterranean)- very easy very easy to stick to and make a lifestyle, my personal favorite, and directed towards a healthy heart & healthy blood cholosterol levels! I'd highly recommend this one :)

but theres also more serious one like paleo, atkins- which can lead down an unhealthy road unfortunately, and keto, TKD, CKD, (more serious adtkins with liberal carb up phases)
  • I am just doing light exercise though. Not mad into it :(

I'm pretty clueless about all this Cal, Carb, Fat, etc. I don't really know what I should/shouldn't be doing.

I don't agree with any of them diets that cut out food groups. plus they are impossible to stick too.
