Could be a number of things. Probably best to see a doctor or physio to have it diagnosed properly. Other then that R.I.C.E. is probably your best best. Knees are tricky and I don't think anyone on here is going to be able to diagnose you accurately unfortunately.0

Hit could be your back is out.
Until recently I thought my knee problems were a symptom of aging being in my 40s. However.......i hurt my back and after seeing an osteopath not only did he heal my back but my knee problems disappeared.
I know its back related because after over training my back was starting to hurt again and guess what.... the knee problem came back too. Fixed the back....knee problem gone LOL
So.... could be that you back is out and you don't know it and the onflow is a twist to the knee.
As for who to see my best result was an osteopath . - reason i recomend them is after a herniated discs and seeing all other modalities its the only one that worked for me.
hope this helps0 -

Fish oil might help with the knee pain. Also, is it possible that you need more cushion in your shoes? If I work out in certain shoes, my knees will ache until I switch back to my "good" shoes.0

New shoes. GOOD shoes. I suggest getting fitted for your style of workout and stride, especially. I was having knee pain because of worn out shoes and bought a new pair that (unknowingly) was wrong for me. Once I got the appropriate shoes, my knee cleared right up. Also, try a knee band...you can get them just about anywhere that supports are sold. Your knee pain could be due to a weakness in your hammies and the band will give you support while you work on strengthening that area. Hope that helps!0

It sounds like you may be developing a little arthiritis in your knee. Or perhaps the cartilage in your knee is deteriorating. If the pain is that bad, you need to see a doctor. I say this because I experienced the same thing in both my knees. I actually had to use a crutch as well as the mobile carts when shopping. This was certainly no fun. After going to the doctor, I was told the cartilage in my knees were wearing thin and the bones were rubbing against bone which caused the pain. After going through a serious of shots, I am pain free. But I cannot not streneous exercises that require direct pressure to the knees. If this is your case, the doctor can recommen to you specific exercises and/or therapy that will help relieve your pain. Hope this has been helpful.0

I had the same issue for a few weeks. I went to my Chriopractor 2 times and now my knee feels much better. It still hurts a little if I walk to hard or twist it, but I'm going back 1 more time. I think something was out of place.0
