Juicing

I'm about to embark on a weekend cleanse juice fast! Has anyone else been juicing? I'm only doing the 3 day deal for now, but plan to use it as part of a regular routine, maybe twice a month, between healthy eating.

What are you trying to achieve? What type of cleanse? Are you just drinking juice the whole time?0

Not sure juicing would help since you remove like all the fiber..0 -
Just doing a 3 day fast. I have several recipes, one is "Dr. Oz's 48hr weekend cleanse", and I have several recipes from my juice machine as well as the internet. I know that lack of protein and some nutrients can be a problem on a fast, and so that is why its only 3 days. I'm wanting to detox my body of toxins, reset my metabolism, and start a better excercise and diet regimen.0

lol, no! Just something people at work are trying, and I thought I would too. I've read some facts about it, and just wanted to know if anyone else in this forum was trying it.0

Juice contains soluble fiber, why do you think prune juice works so well.0 -

Dr Oz is a quack when it comes to diet and supplement advice. Juicing won't detox your body of toxins. Those juice cleanse diets are not backed by scientific research. I've never read any study on juicing, nor have I ever read anything that even specifically list what these so called 'toxins' even are, besides fecal matter anyways.0 -
I am well aware of foods with fiber, and I do NOT have a problem with constipation anyways.....can we stay on topic, lol? Just asking if anyone was juicing.0

Your body does not need detoxing, you will not reset your metabolism, it has nothing to do with exercise and its not a good way to start a diet as it does not teach you good habits.
Oh, and Dr Oz is an asshat.0 -
Your body regularly cleanses and detoxes itself naturally.0

in my personal opinion, juicing is a fad....
and I don't have any faith in fad diets....
so no, I don't juice.0 -

Those were not facts you read.

I juice in addition to, but not a replacement for regular meals. Sometimes I simply wan't a green drink and really feel good with the kick it gives me. They tend to be calorie heavy for what they offer in terms of being filling though. Try carrot, cucumber, spinach and apple for a tasty juice and fennel really makes a great addition.0

I juice once a day in the morning. I use a combination of 3 or 4 fruits and vegetables that usually include carrots, apple, grapefruit, pomegranate, and/or cranberries. I love the way I feel on the days that I juice. I do believe the extra vitamins and minerals are healthy for you but I don't believe it is necessary to fast, "cleanse" or replace regular meals with juice.0

There is nothing wrong with juicing and it is in fact healthy for you as it allows you to eat the same types of food as a Vegan. It just sounds like a fad because of the marketing words that people use to sell their blender brand. Juicing is also not a true fast as you are actually eating foods that a Vegan would eat. The word "fast" is just thrown into the mix to make it sound like an extreme diet marketed towards people who are desperate to lose weight.0

I do a juicer cleanse after big holidays or long road trips. I use my juicer often though. Adding a glass of juice to my regular caloric intake. It's a good way to use up those veggies and fruits before they go bad. I have a habit of buying a bit too much produce at once.0

What kind of juice cleanse do you do after the holidays?0
