have till end of June to fit into dress

So, I have to fit into a bridesmaid dress that I bought too small intentionally for my cousins wedding mid July. Ive lost 27lbs since I bought the dress. I tried it on again tonight to check my progress & it still doesnt fit. I have 3 full months plus the rest of this month to get into it.
I didnt think it was an issue until my mother in law to be just made a comment. The zipper goes up almost to the top. I have about 4 inches gap at the very top. I am very busty, 44-46 F/G give or take. She thinks I will never fit into the dress & should either go in now for alterations to see if they can let it out or use the shawl as extra fabric to add as needed or just buy a new bigger dress.
She thinks theres no way my chest will go down to close the gap to zip it all the way. I think it should go down some but I dont know how much. Also I figured more weight loss would be more inches lost overall, like from my sides or back.
Any advice? Honestly, buying a new dress isnt an option. When I bought this dress in September I thought this was an attainable goal. A little over 3 months left.
What exercise will help shrink my top half if any? her comments really brought me down that she thinks theres no way it will fit :frown: :brokenheart: :grumble:

Well first of all A huge WTG to you for losing 27lbs! That's fantastic! I don't have much in the girls dept,
(.) (.) so I don't know about loosing weight there, but I did want to say that I think it is attainable and if you don't end up losing any of the girls, then a tailor can easily and quickly adjust that part of the dress. I would put a call in to a few tailors (dry cleaners) and see what kind of turn around they need. Keep up the great work and don't let a dress get you down, your doing great!:flowerforyou:0 -
dont let any body u CANT... because u can do anything u put ur mind too... u come this far so now just goo for it!!!!!!0

i totally agree with Dizzieferg.................Just continue what you have been doing because obviously it is working if you are down 27 lbs. I don't know how long it has taken you, but you still have a lot of time. Continue what you are doing and then if you still don't fit into it about a month before, see if a tailor can fix it by adding a little fabric, especially if it fits you everywhere else! I have almost nothing in the boob department and I always lose my weight there first! Go figure! When I was in a wedding I had to get my dress altered up top, taken in so much because my bust just doesn't measure up to what most size 18 are! lol0

Hey Ginger!
Good News! 3 months is plenty of time to fit into that dress, but it's all up to you to make that happen - AND YOU CAN DO IT.
You really need to take these next few months VERY SERIOUSLY. You have to think about food just as much as exercise. Drink a lot of water: 2-3L per day if you can, this prevents water retention which can make us look bloated. If your lifestyle can fit it; try and fit at least 30mins of intense cardio workouts every day. Make sure you get AT LEAST 3 servings of low sugar/low carb veges each day (about 3 cups). Therefore, try and avoid potatoes (all varieties) and corn etc. Vegtetables like Pumpkin, carrot, peas, are ok in moderation, but try not to consume these everyday. (Beans and snow peas are fine)
Same goes for pastas, breads and other processed carbs, Sugary treats etc. I know it may seem daunting to live without these in your diet (Trust me, I have done it bofore), but it does work! And you only really have to worry about this for the next 3 months.
I hope this helps.

HI Ginger! I too have to fit into a bridesmaids dress in the middle of June and I'm pretty busty also. So far on here I've lost 25, but I lost 12 right before starting here so I'm up to 37 for a loss. I was a 47 1/2 bust when I started and today I'm a 38 1/2. I doubt if I'll lose much more in the chest area as far as cup goes cause thats the size I was even when I was 16 and perky!lol My dress hasn't come in yet, but I'm hoping the top will fit. It should cause I ordered it bigger knowing I'd have to get it altered on bottom half anyway because I WILL lose additional weight. Anyway, I truly beleived what helped me was strength resistant training. I use dumbells and do various excercises about 3-4 days a week. I've lost a ton of inches all over doing this ( I also sear 5# weights on my legs to work my lower half). I also do 4-5 sessons of 30 minute cardio a week too. Its very possible for you to do this. The reason I'm suggesting using some weights for excercises is it will start to build your muscle which is more compact than fat so you will tone and ultimately lose inches. I can see a huge difference in my back already by doing this and I've been using the dumbells for a couple months now. If you could start toning as well as cardio, you also might see a change in inches even if the scale isn't registering much weight loss. Worth a shot!! Tell me what you think! Good luck and may we BOTH fit into those darn dresses!!!!!0

I'm using the wrap as straps. A seamstress who is making my own wedding dress is going to make the straps so I have more support being so chesty.0 -
I lost an inch & a half off my bust this past month. When I first started losing weight, I was barely fitting into my Ds...I've thrown them out. Now I'm fitting better into my Cs and I'm sure I'll lose a couple more inches before I'm done. You should have no problem losin' some of your boobies by June. It's only March!! Just keep it up, girl! I'll echo what someone else said...just watch your carbs, and your fat as well.0

I am in the same boat....although my dress fits for my friends wedding but I want to lose some weight so that when i go in mid-may for a fitting that it needs to be taken in.....like people are saying - u can do it. Don't ever let anyone tell ya different.
I know I am not goig to be skinny by any means the day of her wedding but if I can go down a few sizes then I will be happy with that. Every pound makes a difference and you would be surprised what you can accomplish in a few months... keep motivated and don't let others bring you down.0
