Another Guy on the Journey

Hi All,

My name is Mike, I have always been a "big" guy, but with a wife "who introduced me to this site" and 3 small girls at home... I realize that I am too big and need to start living a more healthy lifestyle to be around for years and years to come. It is not cool to be trying to play with the kids or coach the softball team, or play intermural sports and your mind knows what to do but your body will not let you from all the weight you have been carrying for so long...

I don't expect to get Skinny or ripped with this, I just want to get a better quality of life and live life to the fullest. I have been doing this website for about a week now, and have found the communtiy conversations very inspiring and helpful for encouragement. My wife is also on this journey and she has been doing this for over a month and has noticed little weight lost but we are not giving up we are going to stick to it.

    You go Mike.....I have 3 girls too....so just hang in there...you WILL do it and in no time you will be feeling great and playing with your girls!!!!

    Hey, Mike...I'm Dan. I started this in January and so far it's been fun and easy and I'm down 30+ pounds.

    We all have different things that work for us...For me, it was the iPhone app that lets me log my food as I eat it and get realtime information on how many calories I've shoveled in that day. With that info, for some reason, I'm able to make sane choices.

    Maybe that will work for you, maybe something different will. The basic formula is simple: eat less, exercise more. Whatever it takes to get you there is great and if you do those two (simple) things, you'll drop weight.
