Greetings and Salutations

Hi all - I've been poking around this site for the last few hours, and decided to go ahead and introduce myself. Im 37, work nights in the KC metro, and share my home with 4 fur kids.

I've struggled with my weight since around elementary school, and aside with some good luck with WW 20years ago, it's been a battle. I'm queen of, Ill start tomorrow, or after the holidays or, I messed up this week, so might as well wait til next week to start, etc.

My sis in law mentioned this site to me, and I think it's helpful to be able to track my food intake. I need to get on the wagon with exercise too - need to start walking, and maybe join the Y.

Unfortunately I have a history of high blood pressure, and found out recently I am in the early stages of diabetes, both of which I really want to be able to get off meds for. Im a carb hound though - love pasta, bread, rice, etc - but I know I can do it. :)

I love to cook and enjoy finding new recipes, so feel free to point me in the right direction for that.

My goal is to lose 100lbs, which is a little daunting, but there's no time like the present, right?

    Hi and welcome :-)

I've been using the app a while on my phone but not the website that much until now, you'll find the whole thing very inspirational and it really makes you accountable. The main thing for me is to track everything, including the bad days (we all have them) so you can look back and make adjustments if things aren't going to plan.

Have fun with the site and hope you get the focus and help you need.

    Welcome to MFP.
I agree with the previous posting regarding logging everything (good and bad). I've been using MFP since June and log everything I eat & drink (even if it is something I shouldn't have had). It definitely helps me stick to my eating goals.
