Great info posted in this thread. The bodyrecomposition.com article is great. MoreBeans blog too. Steve Troutman posted a thread about this that you can probably find with a search. He is a Pro and highly respected by many of us including Sidesteal.

Bottom line is, you've been in deficit for awhile. There is not downside to eating a mainenance for 2 weeks and some potential upsides. The psychological factor to get a break is a key one. Also, as described in Lyle's article, the gherlin/ leptin normalization after prolonged time in deficit is key. As MoreBean experienced, when you get back at it, you see some improved progress. As Dave mentioned, that progress will slower with the last 10 lbs. Good luck!

I have been at a plateau for 8 or more weeks
I started at @ 255 and can not break 180 no matter what
I still need to loose 25 -35 lbs

I am going to give this a try. The bonus I can enjoy the Holidays

I would try a metabolism reset, like you mentioned. Go on maintenance to reset for about 2 weeks. I did it for a month since I'm huge, and I'm feeling alot better.
