I look in a mirror only if I'm making eye contact with myself (or feeling particularly narcissistic). You shouldn't look down as that will probably make your chest drop. Do some where you look in the mirror to check depth and focus on how that depth feels so that you can hit it without a mirror. Or alternatively, you can just be like me and go as deep as you can. I've been told I "bury" my squats and don't need to hit so much depth, but I figure too much depth is better than too little, ATG (*kitten* To Grass).0

It's good to start with, but once you are confident you won't fall over, you are much better off without it. You should rely on your proprioception.
You'll know it's right, because you can feel what the proper depth is.
Blind people do perfectly well with compound movements - you will too.0 -
only when doing them in my tippy left toe on one leg.0

No or i will start judging myself and it wont be related to the squats.0

Hate having a mirror in front of me judging me.
When I can just look straight at a wall, or rack bar, I'm happy.0 -

iv never seen a blind person do squats0 -
I often can't get in front of a mirror as they are all taken by buff guys who love looking at themselves as they lift..... so I started putting a bench or a step behind me when I do squats. When I hit the step, I know I've gone low enough. I'm only 5 foot tall though, so maybe a bench would work for you.0

I love to do squats, deadlifts, free weights...all in front of the mirror. I like to see what I am doing and if I am staying in form...yeah...that's it!0

Neither have they, but they are awesome at it.0 -
I workout @ home and don't have a mirror. I will occasionally record myself squatting (and doing other lifts) so I can check my form.0
