Question about running?

So I just recently started running, and currently I'm running/walking for 4 days/week. I end up running/walking about 2 miles each time. Do you guys think that this alone is sufficient in helping me lose about 15-20 pounds in 2 months? I am also watching what I eat and making sure that my calore intake is below the amount that myfitnesspal suggests.
My stats are:
Female
Age: 19
Weight: 165
Body Fat %: 34.7%
Muscle %: ~33%

I did the jog/walk 2 mile combo 4 days a with week with diet for awhile also and the weight came off, but hoping or aiming for 20 pounds in two months is pushing it. You're likely to burn out and just end up tired and disappointed if you aim that high. 15 pounds is more realistic and if you are managing to lose 7-8 pounds a month that is already an accomplishment in itself. Good luck!0

I agree with the above poster. Looking for goals in a certain timeframe could end in disappoint, just keep running and watching your diet and all good things will come! Good luck!0

I don't think that is a realistic goal, but if you eat healthy and continue running, you will be a lot closer to your ultimate goal in 2 months.0

I agree with most everyone above me. My suggestion to you would be to varie your runs, pick one run a week to have a long run of about 5-6 miles. and pick one run to run 1 mile but run as fast as you can. By varying your training you'll keep your body in shock which helps to take off those extra couple pounds. It will still be very hard to lose 15-20 in 2 months, but by training hard, eating right, and getting enough water and sleep you'll get much closer to your goal.
Good luck!!0 -
Learn to enjoy running first, and don't worry about the weight. If you learn to run, that will take care of itself. If you lose the weight and stop running it likely will come back.0

A healthy and/or realistic weight loss is 1-2 lbs. per week, so I'd say that 20 pounds in two months is neither. Are you running/walking outdoors or on the treadmill? If you're on the treadmill, crank up the incline especially when walking.0
