What percentages of carbs/protein/fats have you had success with? Do you follow MFP's recs or customize your own?

    The depends greatly on YOU.

People that lift weights will need a higher portion of protein. (Provides material for muscle growth)

People that engage in extensive cardio activities will need a greater amount of carbohydrates. (provides more immediate energy)

Everyone needs various fats for hormones and vitamin absorption.

The FDA recommends ranges of these macros to take that into account.

Me personally, I do 45% carbs, 30% protein, 25% fat.

This is good advice.. generally, people shoudl aim for 1g of protein and .35g of fat per lb of lean body mass. And the rest should be carbs. I have found that 35% carbs, 40% protein and 25% fats follow that fairly closely.

I have had success with 50/25/25. Since I recently increased my calorie goal, I can still get enough protein with 50/20/30. I expect to have the same success with my new goals.

I eat 40% protein, 40% carbs, & 20% fat. I find protein keeps me fuller longer & MFP's setting of 55% carbs seems pretty high. It's worked for me. I also told my Dr & he didn't suggest any changes.
