Hi, I'm thinking of gettting this program but dont want to spend the cash on it until I can get some feedback from actual users. So, I have some questions for those of you who use it.
how long is a typical session?
how much floor space/room do you need to do the routines effectively?

Typical sessions are an hour long. You need either free weights (dumbells) of varying weights or a set of resistance bands. I don't find I need much space for it. If you're looking for a high intensity training plan that does not use weights, try Insanity. It's amazing. I am a competitive athlete and it kicks my *kitten* all the time!0

Thanks! I like the idea of incorporating weights into the routine. I lift occasionally, but its not much & dont have a steady routine when I do.0

oh, also, are the supplements really necessary? if so, do they have to be through beachbody or can find something similar thats local.0

My personal opinion: I didn't like it. I did the full program and didn't get the results that seemed promised. I will say that Ab Ripper X helped a lot, though. Did I get a 6 pack? NO. However, abs have always been a trouble area for me and I am noticing more and more that I am a lot stronger in that area than I previously was.
What you need: weights, resistance bands, yoga mat if working on a hard surface. I also found having a dedicated binder helped track my progress.
Time: A lot of them will go over an hour because at the end you will do Ab Ripper and that's approx. 15 min. I planned out an hour and a half per day.
Space: you need it. you will be jumping around and doing all kinds of stuff. Plyo day will have you all over the room.
I am currently doing 30 Day Shred (30DS) and I feel like I like it so much more than P90X. I think with the P90X program I just burnt out my body.0 -
I did the program and lost 4 jeans sizes.
Most workouts average 60 minutes, add on top of that the Ab Ripper workout which is 15 minutes every other day, and Yoga (1x a week) is 90 minutes.
My thoughts are, "anybody that says 'it didn't work" wasn't working out hard enough (many other P90x-ers will agree too), you really need to push yourself, not just 'go through the motions'. I burned between 600-800 calories per session (according to my HRM).
I saw drastic improvements and changes.
Supplements IMHO are not necessary. Some people like them, some people don't. Shakeology is basically a glorified protein shake.
Equipment you will need: resistance bands or free weights (I like adjustable weights, I gained strength quickly), yoga mat, yoga block, pull-up bar or door anchor for the resistance band.
I was on the fence about it at first, but glad I did the program. Most people don't see improvements until Phase II, (days 45-60).
Good luck, and search out some of the P90x/BeachBody Groups!0
