Healthy stocking stuffers

What are some ideas for healthy (or simply non-candy) stocking stuffers?

A few years ago my hubby put an MP3 player armband in mine. Mine is known to have headphones in it as well.

I love a variety of things in mine. I always say to not have a bunch of chocolate in mine (I do ask for one chocolate item). My husband normally puts body spray, deoderant, bubble bath, small cooking utensils, etc in mine. My in laws however tend to pack mine full of chocolate even when I ask for none. My mother always put one or two items of chocolate in mine and my brother's but also put everyday items in ours when we got older so we wouldn't have to buy them. Things like health and beauty products, a pair of earrings, etc.

Healthy snacks are a great addition too. Nuts, dried fruit, protein bars, various teas, etc.

For kids you can put kid bubble bath, small toys, mini colouring books, crayons or markers, etc. TONS of things without packing them full of chocolate and candy.

Tangerines or clementines, nuts with the shell on, lottery tickets, sample sized toiletries you get at the drugstore, windup toys, trial sized perfume or makeup, socks, magazines, nail polish. Lots of stuff!

My family uses stockings for small, fun gifts and puts other gifts under the tree.

Santa always left in the stocking (and the tradition is continuing with my children):

    toothbrushes
    hair accessories
    a few pairs of undies
a pair or two of stretchy mittens (the cheap kind that get lost but are great for the playground)
    chapstick
    nail files
    miniflashlights
    a few clementines
    tic tacs
hard candies in a neat tin that can be used for something later (like hair ties!)

My kids are each getting a bag of Cuties. They love them and they are a great little snack. In the past I've done cans of nuts and other fruits. They do usually get some candy, too, though. Other things they usually get are small books or little toys.

Santa leaves candy in my kids stockings, but he also leaves beef jerky, small toys or coloring/puzzle books as well as plenty of fruit and nuts.

Our stockings are generally for everyday essentials (deoderant, body wash, toothbrushes and paste) and a few small toys and my boys tend to get a bit of chocolate. I am cutting back on the amount of chocolate this year but other than that the stockings will remain about the same. I also like hte idea of mittens/gloves and maybe a beanie so I may do that this year.

I wandered down the protein bar aisle at Vitamin Shoppe last year and scooped up a variety of things that sounded interesting. My kids LOVED them - they were familiar like granola bars, but still different. :)

We try to leave a few pieces of candy as a treat.. but for my daughter we do fingernail polish, earrings, body sprays, stickers, stuff that is simply but not just junk! And vouchers for like a trip to the movies or the yogurt shop! For our boys hot wheel cars, bubbles, stickers , silly putty, tatoos and stuff like that! Weve also been known to fill it with cool bandaids, new toothbrush anything thats come out like that~ that is new and theyd like to try!

For my niece who is an artist we get small sketchbooks, colored pencils and the like from all places.. barnes and noble. Hoping they have some this year and it's the only thing she's told me she wants so far.

Usually it is a little candy in everyone's stocking and small gifts like a cd or something.

    Great ideas!

We usually leave the kids: a toothbrush, socks, underwear, apples, oranges, nuts with the shells on, a gold dollar or two, and bandaids.
