Ok so I am absolutely terrified that I am going to have all kinds of lose skin after I lose this weight. My husband comes home from deployment in a few months and I want to drop this weight before he gets home. But I don't want to trade an unsexy fat body for a unsexy loose skin body. What are some tips or tricks to tightening areas. Especially lower tummy. I started at 315. I'm now at 264 and so far its ok but I don't want it to start to become a problem. I workout everyday. Any ideas or opinions?

I am 23 so I am hoping that it will be easier to tighten =/ Hopefully LOL0 -
Don't lose the weight too fast.
I am doing it slow and steady And adding strength training. Right now I am doing 30 day shred0 -
I've noticed that people who lose a significant amount have skin that doesn't always bounce back. Lack of collagen plays a role in that as well. I guess like some women who gain a good deal of weight during pregnancy and lose it. Some of them will have stretch marks and saggy skin while some don't get one stretch mark at all.My personal trainer tells me that strength training can help reduce saggy skin after weight loss. Apparently cardio is healthy but toning the muscles decreases the amount and appearance of loose skin.
I am also concerned about loose skin. I am more committed to my weight training now than just cardio since i would like to lose 40lbs.0 -

The choices. Lose 100 pounds in 10 months have some loose skin that may tighten over the next 6 to 12 months. Lose 100 pounds over two years, skin stays tighter but isn't guaranteed to be any tighter then method A and you are fat for that much longer. You choose. There is no science that says loosing weight slowly will eliminate loose skin. Loose skin is based on genetics and length of time being fat.0 -
Lose slowly (allowing the skin to adapt), weight train to tighten the muscles (apparently that helps the skin too), and moisturize to make sure you're skin is in it's best shape. I would say also eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, because all the vitamins in them really help you have healthier skin and hair.0

Here's what you can do: Eat well, hydrate, moisturize, exercise (STRENGTH TRAINING!!!!!!!), and be patient (it didn't stretch out overnight, it's not going to bounce back overnight, either).
Here's what's outside of your control: Age & genetics.
Good luck on shedding the weight and good job on how far you've come so far.
Please remember that, even if you *do* end up with loose skin, you're giving yourself (and your hubby, too) a tremendous gift of a healthy you. Also, it's better to be fit and healthy with loose skin than to fill that skin back up with unhealthy fat.0 -
I just did a little looking around and the obvious factors that will reduce collagen are tanning and stress. Protein, vitamins A,C,E are important to help delay the breakdown of collagen.0
