what is tdee? ugh. this is all so confusing! I need someone to just bring me stuff, and say here. Eat this. I don't get it. I'm not the brightest crayon in box!

To encourage the 20% recommendation given, instead of a flat block amount.

Is someone with 100 lbs to lose with TDEE 2500 and BMR 1818 more realistic for 500 calorie drop (20% of daily calories burned) compared to someone with 10 lbs to lose with TDEE 1500 and BMR 1091 (67% of daily calories burned).

Guess which one will have more problems with that?

Total daily energy expended. The total amount of calories you burn between your metabolic rate, lifestyle/job and exercise. My BMR (or metabolic rate) is 2080, I am sedentary and average 500 calories burned during exercise. So TDEE:

    = 2080 * 1.2 + 500= 2996

From TDEE, you form a deficit, whether it's 500 or 20%. I like 20% because its more adaptive based on your caloric needs.

Have someone help you with getting the spreadsheet in this topic that describes it all, fill in your stats - there's what to eat daily.
