Everybody’s Hustlin….

Why? Why does everything have to be a sales pitch? Why when I go to check out a new gym last night do I have to feel like I’m buying a used car, from a shady sales person.
All I want to do is check it out, see if everything looks to be in good condition, if it’s clean, and what’s the cost. But no….After trying to capture my life story, my fitness goals, favorite color, my shoe size, I finally get the tour. The place was nice enough, everything looked cool, I’m probably in the mood to join.
Then of course, I’m lead back to the sales desk. I could smell the stink of the sales pitch coming so I told the “salesperson” up front that I still have to find out what needs to be done to get me out of the current gym contract. Ok, cool. I get to see all of the various, nationwide packages, initiation fees, monthly charge, price to get my back waxed while I’m on the elliptical, etc. We discuss the packages, told her I wasn’t liking the $100 initiation fee and regardless, I still need to be sure my current gym contract is up. Who wants to pay for 2 gyms? Fine, she says, let me go to talk to my general manager. It’s a damn gym membership, just give me the price! Ugh. So of course, the king of sales comes over and in 10 seconds I get the initiation fee tossed and I get “What do we have to do to get you to sign up tonight?” Seriously, come on man. Thanks for waiving the initiation fee, I now know that I’m getting the deal of a lifetime, that’s good news but this whole sales pitch is getting on my nerves so I pass on the sign up using my current gym contract as the sticking point.
Truth of the matter is, I’ll probably go back and sign up within the next few days but why do we have to do the whole song and dance for a stinkin gym membership.
By the way, don’t EVER pay the initiation fee to any gym…………

Lol I work at a spa/gym. This story made my night :-p We only answer the questions possible clients ask after the tour. I find it funny that most of the gyms around us cost much more not including extra fees. Initiation fees are total BS.0

LOL the gym I joined last January was exactly like that... I even needed an appointment to cancel, and an appointment to get my money back when they didn't stop the auto payment. I told them to shove it up their *kitten* on the third one, just credit my friggin acct... I say run.... fast and far from the fancy gym!!0
