The week started with me being super motivated, eating great, working out, went down 5lbs in a week, FINALLY breaking past a 2 month stand still. Woke up Monday with a flu, missed 2 days of work, and now I am having a hard time getting motivated again. Thankfully I play tennis, but other than that, I am craving bad food, and I just wanna lay on the couch when I get home from work. Its so hard to get out of a slump, even though we know how great it feels to be active and healthy!!
What do you do to get out of a rut?

You play tennis because you like it. You need to find some kind of exercise you like. Maybe running? Maybe Pilates? Maybe a spin class? Whatever it is, you gotta find it. A lot of people don't like going to the gym and harnessing themselves in those awful machines; they find something else. You can too.
It will help your game. Ivan Lendl used to run about 6 miles every day. The Williams sisters lift weights. That Danish player rides an exercise bike till the wheels come off, or runs on a treadmill, or something. Andre Aggasi had that personal trainer who made him run up hills until he barfed (on Christmas Day, no less). Novak Djokovic does a lot of stretching and explosive movement type training.
John McEnroe did steroids. . . . um . . . Wait. That does not count.
But you get the point. Maybe if you think of it in terms of improving your tennis, you'll be more motivated. We've all lost third sets we think we should have won, except . . .

Very true! I'd like to do some weights to get stronger for tennis so I'll look at it that way! Thanks for the reply!! Tennis is about the only thing that motivates me....I know what you mean about losing 3rd sets!! Haha!! A couple last summer that perhaps could have gone another way if only I were stronger.....

Look on youtube for "Djokovic physical training" or "Nadal fitness training." I believe there are some videos that show some of the things they do in the gym. Maybe you could steal a few exercises.
I gotta go. i have a match -- first one in over a week due to weather.
