three weeks at same weight... tell me not to give up!

I'm not into the scales as such but FFS, the scale has been stuck at 72.3kg eveyr morning for 3 weeks. I lost 8.5lbs the first week! Since then, 1lbs...

Here's what I@m doing for the last four weeks:

drinking 3L of water a day
Training (3x outdoor boot camp and 2x PT) with sometimes doing a sixth training session a week, too
Eating paleo mostly, ... lots of protein, carbs from veg and fruit, no sugar, grains, wheat, processed foods, no potatoes, rice, pasta, bread EVER
Taking L glutamine (for recovery and IBS), wheatgrass powder 2x a day natural probiotics and a good multivitamin

supplementing sometimes with protein wehy powder...before early morning trianing sessions bc otherwise i'd pass out or throw up if i ate first.

Maybe years of yoyo dieting, crash dieting, liquid fasts, binging/purging, no exercise have broken my metabolism beyond repair...??

Send help! SOS!

(my diary today has 5bacardis and 1 hr circuit training and it's 8am so clearly I'm merely meausring how much I can drink tonight at a a party and no, i won't actually drink that much !!

yes...I am measuring myself and have had some losses and definitely getting fitter, but I hear calories in calories out and you'll lose weight...why is it not happening for me? This is one month on?

I am in the same boat. My weight has been the same for weeks. Personally, I think it could be sleeping habits, not enough protein, and not eating *enough* - that is hard to wrap my head around but I am working harder and harder and not eating nearly all the calories back, while what I am eating is nearly all extremely healthy. Mathematically, I should be losing but I am not!

I am trying very hard to get enough sleep and eat more protein at least. I always eat more than my BMR but unless I decrease my activity level it is very hard - both mentally and practically - to eat back all the calories burned.

Don't give up!! Even if the scale isn't responding, I know I am getting more fit. I am not knowledgeable enough to give much advice to your situation, but make sure you are eating enough to support all the intense activity you are doing. Your metabolism needs fuel to work properly.

I don't think you can permanently ruin your metabolism, you just need to find that right balance to support a healthy energy burn.

many times people who weren't very active prior to starting an intense workout have this problem. Well i say problem its really not. You are losing inches and dropping fat. Don't get so hung up on the number weight on the scale. Look more at your body fat % i assure you it is falling. you likely had very little muscle mass prior to your new found work out. The pounds will start falling but your body is toning right now. You are doing great just keep it up!! Don't get discouraged you are getting healthy and fit.

Your not at a caloric deficit anymore. You got to drop your calories a next 200-300.
  • thanks everyone ... staying the course for now and ignored the scales today but it's a hard habit to break!!
my sixth training session this week in the gYM with the pt and I killed it. did things I'd never have done even at my goal weight so victory is in my sight.
