Hamstring injury

Five to six weeks ago, I walked at a women's walking clinic and have had pain in the back of my leg, around the knee area ever since. After one week of pain, I went to my family doctor. She said arthritis, and maybe I do have arthritis. But after talking to others, and reading about hamstring injuries, I'm more inclined to believe that is what is wrong.
Anybody know what I need to do? Do I go back to this doctor? I don't know how long it would take to get in to see an orthopedic doctor? Do I rest as much as possible? Can I ride my stationary bike? Any advice?
Thanks.

You need to go back to your doctor. You can always ask for a specialist referral or a second opinion from another doctor.

There are lots of things that can happen to your knee and self-diagnosing after talking to a few people is not the smartest thing to do. A friend of mine recently self-diagnosed her knee pain and went to a physiotherapist on her own, which made the problem worse.

I don't think I'm exactly diagnosing myself since I'm talking about either going to my family doctor or the orthopedic doctor that treated my other knee a few months ago.
My problem right now is: IF it's arthritis, I need to keep moving. IF it's a injury, do I need to rest it.
